About Formatting...

Submitted works should be submitted via the "Submit a Story" form. If a story exceeds the form limitations, it may be e-mailed as an attachment. Whether submitting using the form or or e-mail, stories MUST BE formatted properly. There must be a line break (blank line) between paragraphs and there should be NO indenting of text. All text should be left justified. As of right now, Distant Worlds.net does not allow for bold or italics. However, if a special request is made, some formatting may be possible, if specially requested. ANY STORY THAT IS SUBMITTED WITHOUT PROPER FORMATTING MAY BE REJECTED! For an example of the proper formatting, simply view a story already published on this site.

Please Note...

To submit a story, you must be a registered member of Distant Worlds.net and you must be logged in. Registered members also have the right to participate in the site forums.

Distant Worlds.net Staff members and contributors are NOT compensated except by exposure and URL links. Therefore, Distant Worlds.net DOES NOT PAY AUTHORS FOR THEIR SUBMISSIONS! If a story is selected for on-site publication, the contributing author WILL NOT BE COMPENSATED IN ANY WAY.
A submitted story, if accepted, will be added to the Distant Worlds.net Fiction Database. There it will stay indefinitely or until such time if/when the author of the story requests its removal for the data base. If an author requests his/her story removed from the Distant Worlds.net database, such a request will be handled as soon as humanly possible.
Distant Worlds reserves the right to edit submissions without notification, but strives to exercise prudence and discretion when doing so. It is NEVER the intent of this site to modify or edit a story which alters the author's original vision. Any changes or edits made will be to improve readability and correct any glaring grammatical errors.
Any additional questions or comments may be submitted via e-mail or posted at the Distant Worlds forums. Distant Worlds.net has the right to reject any story submitted.

All submitted works, whether accepted or rejected for on-site publication, belong solely to the author. Distant Worlds.net makes no copyright claims to any story submitted or published on-site. The complete Distant Worlds.net TERMS OF SERVICE agreement can be found HERE.
